The Truth vs. Fiction about the Troy Library Millage
 
The Troy City Manager John Szerlag should be fired for not negotiating harder with staff or collecting donations to keep the Troy Library open.
He, not City Council, is a disgrace if he lets the Library close....and yes, a tax increase is not needed!!!!!
 
Erin, why are you interested in the Troy Library when it is in Oakland County?
     ~ Before Troy cut off their computer system from the Suburban Cooperative, all of the books I wanted seemed to be at Troy.
     ~ And while in Troy, I visited the Troy library many times when I was a volunteer reader for the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (the Troy studio is now closed)
     ~ As the volunteer treasurer for the Libertarian Party of Michigan, I visit Troy weekly to pick up the mail at our headquarters and stop in at the Troy Library

It was at this time I found out about the Troy Library shutting down.  I read the literature and was appalled at the misinformation being spewed to the residents of Troy.  Plus, I know that if Troy is successful at misleading their residents, then all cities will be seeing this type of tax increase down the road.  Look at the "Police and Fire", School, and special interest millages springing up all over the place.

My hope is that the truth will set the residents of Troy free and the rest of us won't be subject to future bogus millages/tax increases.
