The City of SCS continues with their sidewalk replacement program
THE PROBLEM:  On just 1 street
151 out of 200 squares were incorrectly marked for replacement!

That's $ 11,325.00 in overcharges on only 1 street...what about the rest?
25 streets = $283,125.00 in overcharges (West of Harper)
+ $250,000.00 in associated administrative costs
+ $250,000.00 to $500,000 (prevented streets East of Harper from being mis-marked)
+ $150,000.00 (approx. costs for AEW engineering firm to correct the city's costly mistakes)
+ $ ???             Unnecessary financial and emotional hardship on SCS seniors & families

$933,125.00 Approximate overcharges to SCS taxpayers
for a program out of control

What you don't know...
City Council (including Erin) addressed complaints by:

1) Touring the areas in question
2) Giving Chris Rayes (CDI Director) a new direction
3) The City corrected the mis-marked squares

Yet our instructions in 2005/2006 were ignored in 2012!

Perplexed at the markings

Erin walks her dog
documenting the problem

Exposed Aggregate (from 1960's)
Does NOT need replacement

Correctly marked for replacement
(Too bad this was replaced last time by Italia)

It cracked in 2002--the last time Italia did the work
Why is this not marked for replacement?
